2026 Full-Day Course: Sakura Park SAKURA Summer Splash

A large pool appears only during summer at Sakura Park's multipurpose plaza (inside Sakura Village) in Kochi City. Sakura Park SAKURA Summer Splash 2026 (children's water play pool) is a free water play spot open from Saturday, July 18 through Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00. The pool is a large, purpose-built pool 10m by 10m with 30cm of water depth, intended for ages 3–10, and a guardian must accompany children at all times—children may not enter alone. It runs on a rotating system of 30-minute sessions for up to 10 groups at a time, so even on busy days there's room to play comfortably, which is reassuring for young children. Two trained lifeguards are on duty at all times, and starting in 2026 mist-spraying fans have been added around the pool. Showers and a foot-washing area make cleanup easy after playing, which families will appreciate. The park also has a fountain plaza where water randomly shoots up, an inflatable dome, a lawn plaza, a multipurpose plaza, and a dog run, and using the park itself is free. In the morning, visit Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden and Chikurin-ji Temple (the 31st sacred site of the Shikoku Pilgrimage) on Godaisan Hill; for lunch, enjoy a taste of Kochi at Hirome Market; then head to the pool in the afternoon.
