2026 Kibana Children's Pool: A Full Day Course
This is a half-day course centered on Kibana Children's Pool (木花児童プール) in Miyazaki City, open from 10 a.m. to noon from Thursday, July 23 through Monday, August 24, 2026. The children's pool, measuring 10m x 20m with depths of 30cm and 50cm, is the most reassuring place for small children who are afraid of water they can't stand in. And since admission is free, families can drop by as often as they like throughout summer break. Since the pool is only open for two hours in the morning, the trick for this day is to get up early and start moving. First, head to Aoshima Shrine at the entrance to the Nichinan Coast. Cross the island surrounded by wave-shaped rocks known as the Devil's Washboard and pay your respects in the clear morning air. Next, walk the wide lawns and pine forest of the Miyazaki Prefectural Sports Park to loosen up, then head to Kibana Children's Pool in time for its 10 a.m. opening. Splash and play, then wrap up before noon, making for a day that won't tire out even small children. It's a course that connects the highlights of southern Miyazaki City with short trips between stops.
