2026 Okayama City Higashiyama Pool Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on Okayama City Higashiyama Pool, open from July 20 to August 25, 2026. Okayama City Higashiyama Pool is a municipal outdoor pool with a large 50m x 22m main pool and a 20m x 10m children's pool. It opens only in summer and operates on a two-hour rotating entry system. Admission is affordable - 210 yen for adults, 150 yen for junior and senior high school students, and 100 yen for elementary school children and younger - making it easy for families to visit. In the morning, visit Okayama Korakuen, one of Japan's three great gardens. Walk through the spacious lawns, ponds, and winding-stream garden, savoring the beauty of a Japanese garden in the clear morning air. Next, cross the Asahi River to Okayama Castle. Climb the main keep - nicknamed Ujo (Crow Castle) for its black exterior - for a sweeping view of Korakuen and the city of Okayama. In the afternoon, move to Higashiyama Pool and make full use of the two-hour session for water play. Garden, castle, and water play come together in one day - a quintessentially Okayama way to spend the day.
