2026 Izumi Citizens' Pool Children's and Toddler Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Izumi Citizens' Pool Children's and Toddler Pool (出水市民プール 児童・幼児プール) in Izumi City, open from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, August 31, 2026 (with a rest break from 12:00 to 13:00). It's a summer-only outdoor pool next to the general gymnasium, covering 384 square meters. Designed with a shallow depth for children and toddlers, it's a safe place for even young kids unaccustomed to water to play. The same facility also has an indoor heated pool (25m, 7 lanes) and two slides, so you can enjoy water play regardless of the weather. In the morning, start at the Izumi Fumoto Samurai Residences (出水麓武家屋敷群), an area designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, where samurai residences surrounded by stone walls and hedges remain in use as homes today. Next, visit the Izumi Crane Museum, Crane Park Izumi (出水市ツル博物館クレインパークいずみ), a museum unique to Izumi, Japan's top wintering site for cranes, where you can learn about crane ecology and their relationship with people. In the afternoon, enjoy some carefree water play at Izumi Citizens' Pool Children's and Toddler Pool.
