2026 Full-Day Course: Nagasaki Sarukubura Night View and Science Museum Observatory Starry Sky
The Nagasaki City Science Museum Observatory (長崎市科学館 天文台) holds a Nighttime Stargazing Event every Saturday. In the 4th-floor observatory, a large 50cm-aperture reflecting telescope is used, and telescopes are also set up on the rooftop Starry Sky Plaza, allowing observation of the moon, planets, and seasonal constellations. Hours are 19:30-21:00 from April to September and 18:30-20:00 from October to March. It is free and requires no reservation, but whether it runs is decided around 16:00 that day, and it is cancelled in bad weather. During the day, the itinerary covers Nagasaki classic sightseeing spots such as Dejima (admission 1,100 yen for adults, effective April 1, 2026), Spectacles Bridge, and the Mount Inasa Observation Deck.
