2026 Hoshi to Mori no Kagakukan (Nichihara Observatory) Full-Day Starry Sky Course

A day centered on Hoshi to Mori no Kagakukan (Nichihara Observatory) (星と森の科学館(日原天文台)) in Tsuwano-cho, Shimane Prefecture. The science museum is open 13:30-21:00; the attached Nichihara Observatory offers facility tours from 13:30-17:00 and stargazing from 19:00-22:00. It is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday, and on New Year's Day. Admission is 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for high school students and younger (stargazing may incur an additional fee, so please check with the facility in advance). During the day you can also stop by Taikodani Inari Shrine (太皷谷稲成神社) in town (visiting is free and unrestricted).
