Explore a wave-carved cave with a candle-shaped lantern in hand
About this spot
A sea cave created by wave erosion over many years. In the first cave, proceed through the dim interior with a rented candle-shaped lantern, while the second cave draws you into a world of dragon deity legend. The rocky walking paths leading to the cave also offer spectacular views of Sagami Bay, making this Enoshima's finest spot for stirring children's sense of adventure.
Tips
The entrance involves a long flight of stairs up and down, making strollers impractical. On days with high waves, the cave may be closed, so check the day's opening status before heading there.
Best time to visit
Plan for 45 minutes; early afternoon has fewer tour groups and flows more smoothly
