View the Hearth and Water Wheel at a 300-Year-Old Thatched-Roof Farmhouse
About this spot
A thatched-roof traditional farmhouse dating back approximately 300 years, located in Kaisei Town. The residence of the village headman Setoya family is open to the public, with the earthen floor, hearth, storehouse, and water mill house preserved in their original state. Sitting on the veranda and gazing at the garden feels like stepping into a folktale world. Seasonal events and hands-on experience programs are also held here.
Tips
It's standard practice to visit as a set with the nearby Hydrangea Village, just a short walk away. The interior has many steps, so carrying small children is recommended. Admission may be charged during event periods.
Best time to visit
Allow 45 minutes; mornings have fewer group tours and are quieter
