Casual Lunch at a Retro Alleyway
About this spot
A Showa-era retro alley in front of Kichijoji Station, packed with about 100 small shops in a narrow passage. Lunch features plenty of casual street food like grilled chicken skewers, croquettes, and taiyaki pancakes—exploring this tight alley is an adventure in itself. It's fun for families to share and try various flavors.
Tips
The narrow alley can be challenging with a stroller. Taking out food and eating on benches in Inokashira Park is more relaxed for families with small children. Note that some shops accept cash only.
Best time to visit
Allow 1 hour. The early lunch hour right after opening is best.
