Located near the end of the Choshi Electric Railway line, this station is known for its striking white, Southern European-style station building. The shop sells local specialties like nure-senbei (moist soy sauce rice crackers) and the joke item mazui-bo (bad-tasting stick), and taking a souvenir photo with the retro single-car train is a hit with train-loving kids. The trip feeling builds the moment you step onto the platform.

Tips

Buying the one-day pass Kokai Tegata at Choshi Station lets you get on and off freely and is a great deal. Tickets can also be bought on board, and chatting with the conductor becomes a nice memory of the trip.

Best time to visit

About 30 minutes. Early morning trains are relatively uncrowded.
