360-Degree Views from a Hilltop: Gazing at a Round Horizon

About this spot

An observation hall at the summit of Atagoyama, Choshi's highest mountain. From the rooftop observation deck, a 360-degree panorama unfolds, and as children gaze at the gently curving horizon, their eyes light up realizing "the Earth really is round!" On clear days, you might even see Mount Fuji and Mount Tsukuba.

Tips

It's a steep uphill walk of about 15 minutes from Inubo Station, so taking a taxi with small children is more convenient. The rooftop is very windy, so a light jacket or sweater is recommended.

Best time to visit

Takes about 40 minutes. Clear mornings to midday offer the best views.
