Hilltop Scenic Observatory with Stunning Views of Kamogawa's Coastline
About this spot
An observatory in the Mineoka Mountain Range offering panoramic views of Kamogawa's town, the arc-shaped coastline, and the Pacific Ocean. A goddess statue called 'Akakaze' stands at the summit, making it known as a sacred spot for lovers. Just a short staircase from the parking lot to the observatory, making it an easily accessible hidden gem even for families with young children.
Tips
The path from parking lot to observatory involves continuous stair climbing, so a baby carrier is more practical than a stroller. The hilltop can be windy, so watch out for hats blowing away.
Best time to visit
Allow 30-45 minutes. The afternoon light from the ocean side is ideal for photography.
