The Heart-Shaped Light Cave and Wooden Walkway Stroll

About this spot

A riverside park known for Kameiwoa Cave and Nomizu Falls, created by river diversion. The cave became famous for its fantastical photographs where morning sunlight reflects off the water surface to form a heart shape. A wooden walkway has been built, making it easy for families with small children to enjoy the pristine streams and verdant valley scenery.

Tips

The heart-shaped light phenomenon occurs only in the early mornings around March and September. The view is beautiful throughout the day, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Since the walkway has stairs, a baby sling is safer than a stroller.

Best time to visit

Allow 40–60 minutes; parking lots get crowded on weekends during daytime.
