Taishakuten Temple Approach (帝釋天参道)
Flow of the course
About this spot
Along the stone-paved approach stretching approximately 200 meters from Shibamata Station to Taishakuten, historic establishments line the way. Specialty grass dumplings, freshly baked rice crackers, and river fish restaurants create a nostalgic Showa festival atmosphere just by walking through. For lunch, eel and tempura rice bowls at long-established shops are recommended, and many have tatami seating where three generations can relax comfortably.
Tips
Popular eel restaurants have lines during lunch hours. Visiting before 11 a.m. is advisable. Most shops will dispose of wrappers from food you purchase there.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 90 minutes. Queues are inevitable on weekend lunch hours; earlier visits are better.
