View the Garden from Shoin-Style Japanese Rooms and Rest with Matcha Tea and Japanese Sweets
About this spot
A former residence built in the late Taisho period, owned by the founder of a camera parts manufacturer. The charming long gatehouse, shoin-style Japanese rooms, and the outstanding pond stroll garden that ranks at the top in American Japanese garden specialty magazines are all noteworthy. Enjoying matcha or sweets while viewing the garden from the tatami room is sure to delight the grandparent generation. Admission is reasonably priced.
Tips
Shoes are removed upon entry. Since you can stretch your legs on the tatami mats, it's perfect for resting tired feet. Baby strollers can be left near the entrance.
