Pay Respects to the Enryo Buddha and Enjoy Signature Snacks at the Temple Grounds
About this spot
An ancient Pure Land Buddhist temple beloved for blessings of safe childbirth and child-rearing. Touch and rub Ohinzuru-sama, which is said to heal the areas you touch. At the temple grounds, you'll find shops selling the famous grilled dumplings and Kawagoe-style thick noodle okonomiyaki. You can also rest on benches while eating. On the 8th of every month, the festival day draws crowds with food stalls.
Tips
The temple grounds are spacious and stroller-friendly. The famous thick noodle okonomiyaki is popular and gets long lines, so arriving before lunchtime is the best strategy. Restrooms are also available on the grounds.
