Leisurely Stroll While Interacting With Sheep on a Hill Overlooking Mt. Bukoh
About this spot
A hilltop park spread at the base of Mt. Bukoh. The "Animal Interaction Pasture" (which inspired the park's name) with its resident sheep is a huge hit with children, and from the observation hill you can take in a panoramic view of Chichibu city. In spring, approximately 400,000 moss phlox flowers blanket the "Moss Phlox Hill" in a breathtaking display, typically blooming from mid-April to early May.
Tips
During the moss phlox season, there is an entrance fee and crowds; other times of the year access is free and relaxed. The park has many slopes, so a baby carrier is more practical than a stroller. Restrooms are available throughout the park.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1.5 hours. During moss phlox season, arrive early to avoid crowds.
