A park developed from the ruins of Sakura Castle, which was defended by earthen ramparts and deep moats rather than stone walls. Remains such as the castle's hilltop site and the horse-mount dry moat are well preserved, and as you walk, the castle's layout becomes visible. With the changing seasons—cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in early summer, and autumn foliage—the park is rich with colorful scenery, and resting on a shaded bench offers a pleasant interlude.

There are few vending facilities in the park, so it's wise to bring beverages. Picking up a guide map at the Park Center before exploring the ruins will help you better understand the castle's clever layout.
