Leisurely Stroll Along the Gisho Marsh and Lawn Squares

About this spot

A large park spread across the site where Ashikaga Shigeuji, the Koga Kubo of the Muromachi period, once had his residence. Scattered around the Gisho Marsh are lawn squares and thatched-roof farmhouses. Each spring, the park hosts a peach festival celebrating approximately 1,500 blooming peach blossoms. It's a park uniquely suited to Koga, where you can enjoy both historical walks and outdoor play at once.

Tips

The park is expansive, so having a stroller is reassuring. Shops are limited, so bring drinks with you. During the spring peach festival period, the parking lot tends to get crowded.

Best time to visit

Plan for 60-90 minutes. An afternoon stroll is recommended.
