Take a memorable photo at the beautiful vermillion bridge and set off on your temple tour
About this spot
A beautiful vermillion-painted bridge standing at the gateway to the World Heritage 'Nikko's Temples and Shrines.' Its reflection in the Daiya River's stream and green mountains is one of Nikko's most iconic views and a classic spot for souvenir photos. You can actually walk across the bridge by paying a crossing fee, making it the perfect place to begin your temple and shrine tour.
Tips
Viewing from the road side is free. Coming early in the morning means fewer crowds, allowing families with children to take photos at a leisurely pace. Since it's alongside the road, remember to hold young children's hands.
Best time to visit
Allow 20-30 minutes. It's relatively uncrowded around 9 AM
