Heal the Day's Fatigue in a Renowned Hot Spring Said to Have 1,300 Years of History

About this spot

A symbolic public bathhouse of Nasu Yumoto said to have been welcoming guests for 1,300 years. Its name derives from a legend of an injured deer healing in these waters; the wooden bathhouse and rising steam preserve the nostalgic atmosphere of the old hot spring resort. Bathhouses separated by temperature from 41 to 48 degrees Celsius allow you to experience the traditional bathing method called 'kaburinyu.'

Tips

This is a traditional hot spring where soap and shampoo are not permitted. Bring your own towel; don't push yourself with very hot water—start with a warm bath and gradually acclimate.
