Pray for Safe Travels and Good Fortune at an Ancient Shrine Associated with Nasu Yoichi
About this spot
An ancient shrine said to have been founded when the hot spring was discovered, famous as the shrine where Nasu Yoichi—who shot down the fan target at the Battle of Yashima—offered his prayers. The approach lined with tall cedars has a crisp, clear atmosphere that soothes the spirit with each step. A nature trail from the shrine grounds continues toward the Sessho-seki Garden, making combined visits the standard practice.
Tips
Near the shrine entrance is 'Konbai-ro-no-Yu,' a free foot bath where you can soothe tired feet after walking. Don't forget a towel.
Best time to visit
Approximately 30 minutes required; the approach is peaceful in the afternoon
