About this spot

A tourist farm with grounds spanning roughly 178 Tokyo Domes. Popular activities include interacting with the pasture animals, horseback riding, and Sembonmatsu soft-serve ice cream made with freshly squeezed milk. Admission is free, making it easy to stop by, and it's just off the Nishinasuno-Shiobara IC, so access is excellent. It's a classic finishing spot on the way home.

Tips

The famous soft-serve is so popular for its rich milk flavor that a line is almost guaranteed. On certain days there are also events like hot-air balloon rides. If you're buying butter or cheese as souvenirs, an insulated bag is reassuring.

Best time to visit

Allow 1 hour. It's efficient to stop by in the late afternoon on your way home.
