About this spot

A large roadside station in Tanuma, Sano City, which claims to be at the center of Japan's main islands. In addition to a farmers' market with fresh-picked vegetables from local farmers, the facility features restaurants offering local cuisine such as Sano ramen and imo fry (fried potato). There are also free foot baths and a lawn plaza, making it an ideal stop for the family's lunch break.

Tips

The restaurants get crowded at lunch time, so arriving before noon ensures a smooth visit. The famous imo fry comes in a convenient snack-size for eating on the go. Don't forget a small towel for the foot bath.
