A leisurely approximately 30-minute boat journey along the Hamakamagawa (巴波川) with the boatman's expert poling and traditional Tochigi Riverside Boatmen Songs. The view of black-walled and white-walled earthen storehouses seen from the water is the warehouse district's finest highlight, and you can also enjoy feeding the carp that swim up to the boat.
Tips
Buy carp food at the boarding point to feed them from the boat—it's a lot of fun. Weekend waits can be long, so it's efficient to complete your registration first and then explore the nearby area.
