Mooka Station (真岡駅)
Flow of the course
About this spot
The central station of the Moka Railway, marked by a white station building shaped exactly like the face of a steam locomotive. Inside there's a corner selling railway goods and displays, and train-loving kids will get excited just being here. It's also a stop for the SL Mooka, which runs mainly on weekends, making it the perfect spot for a photo to kick off your trip.
Tips
The SL Mooka runs mainly on weekends. Even just watching it depart from the platform on a running day is thrilling, so it's a good idea to check the operating calendar on the official website before you visit.
Best time to visit
Allow 30 minutes. Fewer people in the morning make it easier to take photos.
