A memorial museum that opens to the public the residence where Living National Treasure Shoji Hamada lived and made pottery. It features a thatched-roof main house, a large climbing kiln, and crafts he collected from around the world, giving it the feel of wandering into a folktale. It's the perfect place to end the trip, letting parents and children sense how pottery comes to life.

Tips

The grounds have many gravel paths and steps, so a baby carrier is easier to move around with than a stroller. The last admission time can be earlier than expected, so it's reassuring to check the closing time before heading over.
