A representative-scale aquarium on the Sea of Japan side. The experience of walking through the grand tank tunnel where schools of Japan Sea fish swim is the biggest thrill for children. The outdoor pool dolphin show is spectacular, and there are also plenty of popular exhibits of penguins, seals, and more. With plenty to see, you can easily spend half a day here—a staple Niigata family outing.
Tips
The trick is to check the dolphin show start time upon entry and work your route accordingly. The facility is stroller-friendly with spacious free parking. Early weekend mornings are least crowded.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 2.5 hours. Early morning right after opening is least crowded and easiest to navigate.
