Walk the Long Tree-Lined Approach and Visit with Family
About this spot
Nestled in pine groves along the Sea of Japan coast, one of Niigata's most representative shrines. The long, straight approach lined with trees is refreshingly serene—perfect for a mental reset after the lively aquarium. The grounds are spacious, making it easy and relaxing for families with children to pay their respects. Just beyond lies the pine forest of Seikaigan Park (西海岸公園), where you can also enjoy a stroll breathing in the sea breeze.
Tips
Within walking distance of Marinpia Nihonkai, or just minutes by car. The approach is flat and easy to navigate with a stroller. Don't forget small coins for offerings.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 45 minutes. Before lunch sees fewer visitors and is quiet.
