A local history museum where you can view up close the festival float "Oshagiri" that is paraded through the castle town during the Murakami Grand Festival. The floats, adorned with lacquer finish and intricate carvings, showcase the very best of Murakami's artisan culture. The museum also displays armor, helmets, swords, and other historical materials related to the Murakami Clan, making it the perfect introduction to your castle town walk. If you also tour the adjacent Wakabayashi Family Residence (Important Cultural Property designated by the state) and the Murakami History and Culture Museum, you'll gain a three-dimensional understanding of life in Murakami during the clan's administrative period.
