About this spot

The terminus of the trolley train, a remote station cradled deep within the gorge. As soon as you exit the station, the vermilion Okane Bridge (奥鐘橋) over the Kurobe River (黒部川) and the towering rock face of Hitokui-iwa (人喰岩), looming overhead, greet you. Inside the station there are a restaurant and shops, and having lunch here with a view of the mountains is a luxury unique to this spot. Nearby there are also viewpoints leading down to the riverbed, where you can feel the depth of the gorge with your whole body.

When you arrive, first check the departure time of the trolley train back before planning your activities. The restaurant tends to get crowded right after the trolley train arrives, so it can help to look around the Okane Bridge area first and shift your timing.
