About this spot
A rock with the legend that Minamoto Yoshitsune sheltered from sudden rain under its overhang while fleeing to Mutsu, and which is said to be the origin of the place name 'Amaharashi' (where rain clears). A small Yoshitsune Shrine sits atop the rock, allowing you to feel the historical romance. The JR Himi Line runs close by, making it a well-known photography spot where the sea, rock, and train can be captured in a single frame. Located just steps from Amaharashi Coast, it's easily accessible during your stroll.
Tips
Since the site is very close to the railway tracks, always cross at designated locations. To capture trains and the sea together, check the Himi Line's timetable at the station so you don't miss the opportunity.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 45 minutes. Early afternoon offers excellent light for photographing the rock and sea beautifully.
