Enjoy an aerial walk over the sea on the pedestrian walkway in the lower level of the bridge
About this spot
A large two-tier cable-stayed bridge spanning the entrance to the Port of Toyama Shin-ko, with the upper level serving as a roadway and the lower level as a pedestrian-only passage. Take the elevator up from the Kaio Maru Park side for a free aerial walk with views of the port and Toyama Bay through glass windows. Watching large ships pass beneath you is thrilling, and children will be glued to the windows. On clear days, the Tateyama Mountain Range floats across the sea in a breathtaking view.
Tips
The pedestrian walkway is indoors and accessible even on rainy days, but note the operating hours—be cautious in early morning or evening. Strollers can pass through using the elevator. It's just a short walk from Kaio Maru Park, and a round trip takes about an hour.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. Views are often best in late morning to early afternoon when visibility is clear.
