Known as the Hokuriku headquarters of the Nichiren sect, this historic temple was protected and prospered under patronage of the Maeda clan of the Kaga Domain. The temple grounds contain numerous structures designated as important national cultural properties. The wooden five-story pagoda stands out as the most beautiful in the Hokuriku region. The sight of the pagoda illuminated by the evening light is breathtakingly solemn. The spacious, quiet grounds are perfect for a relaxing family stroll to conclude your day.
Tips
Admission office closing times vary by season, so confirm in advance if visiting late. The grounds have gravel and stone steps, so wear comfortable shoes. Parking is free and you can enter the grounds immediately after parking.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. Evening visits bathe the five-story pagoda in western sunlight, making it ideal for concluding your day.
