A memorial hall dedicated to Fujino Genjiro, a physician and the esteemed teacher of Lu Xun, the celebrated Chinese author who wrote about him in his essay "Mr. Fujino." The wooden building is the relocated former residence where he spent his final years, quietly displaying his consultation room, living spaces, and materials conveying the exchange between teacher and student. The story of this teacher-student relationship, whose mutual respect transcended national borders, lingers deeply in one's heart precisely because of the intimate scale of this small museum. Located right beside Yunomaichi Plaza, it's an easy-to-visit historical spot during your hot spring town stroll.
Tips
Admission is reasonably priced, and since the museum is compact, viewing takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour. It's within walking distance from Yunomaichi Plaza. Since there are closed days, it's wise to confirm opening hours in advance. The displays have a calm atmosphere, so please view them quietly.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. Early afternoon hours are less crowded, allowing for leisurely viewing.
