A long-established restaurant operating since the Taishō era, renowned as the birthplace of Fukui's famous sauce cutlet rice bowl. The signature style—thin, crispy breaded cutlet dipped in secret-recipe Worcestershire sauce served over rice—originated here. The combination of sauce-soaked cutlet and rice is exceptional, and enjoying Fukui's soul food at the main branch is the true pleasure of downtown strolling. Sets that include the cutlet rice bowl with mini buckwheat noodles are also popular.

Tips

Lunch hours see long lines, so arriving shortly after opening ensures smooth entry. Located about a 10-minute walk from Fukui Castle Ruins in the downtown area. If concerned about portion size, check with staff about small-portion menu options.
