A sightseeing cruise departing from Funatsu Beach on the south shore of Lake Kawaguchi, featuring a distinctive Japanese-style ship modeled after the Antak vessels of the Sengoku era. During the approximately 20-minute voyage, you can view an unobstructed Mount Fuji from the lake and the Tenjozan Mountain you'll climb afterward. Step onto the observation deck and feel the pleasant breeze crossing the lake—both children and adults naturally cry out in delight during this exhilarating experience. On clear days, you may even spot the inverted Mount Fuji reflected in the lake surface, making it a perfect scenic experience to start the day.

Tips

Boats operate at roughly 30-minute intervals throughout the day, so you won't feel rushed. The deck can get windy, so watch that children's hats don't blow away. There's a paid parking lot near the departure point, and the ropeway station is right next door, so it's efficient to visit both back-to-back. Sometimes combination tickets for the boat and ropeway are available, so check at the ticket window.

Best time to visit

Approximately 50 minutes total. The lake surface is calmest early in the morning and Mount Fuji is easiest to see clearly then.
