Ride successive lifts to the 1,925m summit and enjoy a 360-degree panorama
About this spot
A highland resort spreading at the base of Kurumayama, the highest peak of Kirigamine (1,925m elevation). In summer, you can ride connecting lifts to reach near the summit without hiking, which is a wonderful feature for families with children. From the summit, a 360-degree panorama unfolds, taking in the Yatsugatake and Northern Alps, with a distinctive white spherical weather radar observation station as a landmark. Commemorative photos at the summit near the sky will become your most memorable moment of the day.
Tips
Cost is an estimate for round-trip lift fare. Lifts operate seasonally, so check operating status in advance. The summit is windier and cooler than the base, so bring a jacket even in summer for peace of mind. There is a large parking lot at the base. Staff can advise about lift usage even for babies in carriers.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 45 minutes required. Afternoon light offers beautiful mountain views.
