Cross Japan's Longest Pedestrian Suspension Bridge and Enjoy Stunning Views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay
About this spot
A grand suspension bridge spanning 400 meters, Japan's longest pedestrian-only bridge. From the bridge, panoramic views unfold of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, and the Izu mountain ranges all at once, offering the sensation of walking on clouds. Beyond the bridge, there are forest walking trails, souvenir shops, and a beautifully decorated Sky Garden where families can spend half a day. The experience of taking one careful step at a time across the gently swaying bridge becomes an unforgettable adventure for children.
Tips
The bridge has a wide span and is passable with a baby stroller, but on windy days it sways considerably, so a baby carrier is recommended for safety. Mount Fuji is most clearly visible in the crisp morning air. From Mishima Station, it's about 25 minutes by local bus, or by car there is free parking. The ticket office is less crowded right when it opens. For addresses, translate descriptive parts but keep postal codes and building numbers as-is.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1.5 hours required. Mount Fuji is distinctly visible in the morning when the air is crisp.
