Walk Along Spring Water Crossing Stepping Stones and Wooden Boardwalks in the River

About this spot

A spring water stream approximately 1.5 kilometers long that originates from Rakujuen Park's Obana Pond and flows through the city streets. Stepping stones and wooden boardwalks wind through the river itself, offering a rare nationwide experience of walking above gentle streams. The crystal-clear water sways with aquatic plants, and fireflies dance on it in early summer—it's a pristine stream. Hopping across the stepping stones is pure delight for children, and adults reconnect with their playful hearts on this special walking path.

Tips

Stepping stones become slippery when wet, so wear sturdy shoes. If your children plan to play in the water, bring changes of clothes and towels. The riverbed walking paths do not accommodate baby strollers, so detour along the parallel road and only descend to the river at key points. Walking downstream from Rakujuen Park naturally connects you to the city walk.

Best time to visit

Approximately 50 minutes required. In the afternoon light, the water surface sparkles beautifully.
