A park that protects the Kakita River spring water sources where snow and rain fallen on Mount Fuji emerge after long years underground. The Kakita River is counted among Japan's three greatest clear rivers. The "spring vortexes" viewed from the Second Observation Deck—where water wells up continuously while churning sand—create a mystical sight that draws spontaneous exclamations from the whole family, marking the perfect highlight. Tips
Entry is free, though parking incurs a fee. The walk to the observation deck via the park's paths takes several minutes but includes stair sections, so leaving the stroller at the entrance and carrying children is recommended. At the spring water plaza, children can play in the water during summer. From Mishima Station, it's about 15 minutes by bus or car.
Best time to visit
Approximately 50 minutes required. The soft light before evening makes the blue of the spring vortexes particularly striking.
