It is known for blessings of safe childbirth, longevity, and protection from misfortune, and has been close to local people's daily lives. The spectacular Inuyama Festival, where gorgeous floats parade through town, is carried on as this shrine's festival tradition. After viewing the castle, stopping here is the perfect opportunity to offer prayers for a safe day and your wishes in the quiet grounds.
Tips
Entry and prayers are free, and it's conveniently located on the way back from the castle. The grounds have stone steps, so watch your footing. There's an amulet booth, and many visitors pay respects at both this shrine and the neighboring Mitsumitsu Inari Shrine.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 30 minutes. The grounds are quiet and serene in late morning after castle viewing, making for peaceful prayers
