A prefectural park on the west side of Sumiyoshi Taisha, established in Meiji 6 (1873), making it one of Osaka's oldest. Once part of the Sumiyoshi Taisha grounds, the path called "Shiokake-do" (汐掛道) that runs east-west through the park is said to be the historic route the Sumiyoshi Festival portable shrine (mikoshi) took toward the sea. Majestic pines stand throughout the grounds, and spreading a picnic blanket in the shade is perfect for a bento lunch. At the children's play area with colorful equipment, grandchildren can run and play freely while grandparents rest on benches—each generation enjoying their own comfortable time. The "Flowers and Water Plaza" with colorful flower beds offers pleasant post-lunch strolls through a compact but delightful space. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely midday break before boarding the next Hankai Tram.

Tips

Just a short walk west of Sumiyoshi Taisha via Shiokake-do; on the west side of Nankai Main Line's Sumiyoshi Taisha (住吉大社) station. The park is flat and baby-stroller friendly. Abundant pine shade and grassy areas are perfect for bento dining, but there are no shops in the park—bring your lunch and drinks. Locating the play area and restrooms beforehand ensures smooth playtime after eating.
