The shop also carries souvenirs from Tango—seafood, confectionery, local sake, and more. The bird's-eye view of the boathouses and sea woven together like a miniature garden is unique to this vantage point—different from looking up at the boathouses from within the village. Tips

A 15-minute walk uphill from the village, or by bus to "Michi-no-Eki Funaya no Sato Park" stop—right there with free parking. The restaurant gets busy around noon, and popular menu items may sell out, so arriving early is safe. The observation deck is free and open to the public, but the sea breeze lowers the perceived temperature, so a light jacket is comfortable.
