About this spot

Founded in 1754 (Horeki 4), this long-established sake brewery is called "the sake brewery closest to the sea" because the brewery sits right before Ine Bay. The specialty is "Ine Mankai," brewed from red ancient rice. With a vivid red color like rosé wine and a sweet-tart flavor, it's popular even among those unfamiliar with sake. The shop displays everything from standard local sake to seasonal limited editions, and smaller bottles are perfect for souvenirs. The brewery itself, nestled in the boathouse townscape, has its own charm and character. The mingled scents of sea air and sake are uniquely Ine. Choosing a commemorative bottle together is a delightful moment.

Tips

Just a few minutes' walk from Ineuara Park through the boathouses, or very close to the "Ine" bus stop. The shop is small, so be considerate during busy times. Whether tastings are available varies by season; check with the staff. Wrapping bottles in hand towels or towels when taking them home is smart. Since it's a small shop, bring cash to be safe.

Best time to visit

Approximately 45 minutes. Late morning before lunch allows you to browse the shop relatively leisurely.
