Without a main hall, it preserves an ancient faith where visitors offer prayers directly to the mountain from the worship hall. The approach, lined with towering cedar trees, brings a sense of calm with each step. The magnificent worship hall, designated a National Important Cultural Property and rebuilt during the Edo period, greets visitors with solemn beauty. The beloved "rabbit statue" at the entrance of the assembly hall is said to heal bodily ailments and grant wishes when touched—a popular figure known for its benefits in relationships and matchmaking, making it perfect for couples' prayers. The gateway district is lined with long-established restaurants and sake breweries, ensuring enjoyment extends beyond the shrine visit itself. This is where your Miwa stroll begins.

Tips

About a 5-minute walk from JR Manyo Mahoroba Line Miwa Station. By car, a free parking lot near the main torii gate is convenient. Weekends and the first day of each month see many visitors, so early morning is recommended for a quiet visit. The approach has pebbled paths but is easy to walk on. You can receive a commemorative stamp at the stamp office.
