Capture a memorial photo at the scenic spot with panoramic views of the massive torii gate and Yamato Three Mountains
About this spot
Located on the hill of "Ōmiwa no Mori" within the grounds of Ōmiwa Shrine (大神神社), this observation platform offers a panoramic view of the 32-meter-tall main torii gate and the Yamato Three Mountains beyond. The vista—with the Yamato Basin below and Mount Miwa, the sacred deity, behind you—presents the finest scenery of this mythological land. In spring, weeping cherry blossoms drape the hillside, making it a celebrated cherry blossom viewing spot. Benches are provided, so you can rest together and take in the views between shrine visits. On clear days, distant mountains are remarkably distinct, making this an unmissable spot for memorable photos. Free admission is another appreciated benefit.
Tips
About a 5-minute walk from Saii Shrine toward the Kuenehiko Shrine direction; the gentle uphill path is easy to walk, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Free admission with well-maintained paths, and you can easily stop by while following the pilgrimage route. Spring cherry blossom season is especially popular; visit early morning if you want to photograph unhurried.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 40 minutes. The clear morning air makes the main torii gate and Yamato Three Mountains stand out distinctly
