The decorations on the Hikiyama—adorned with lacquer, metalwork, and sculpture—are breathtakingly beautiful, inviting you to examine every detail. Video displays of "Children's Kabuki" performed by young performers on the Hikiyama stage convey the excitement of the festival itself. Tips
About 3 minutes on foot from Kurogane Square, located along the shopping street and easy to incorporate into your walk. The museum is well air-conditioned, making it suitable for a rest stop on hot or rainy days. During the annual Nagahama Hikiyama Festival in April, the entire town becomes very crowded; the regular season is recommended for leisurely viewing. The Hikiyama floats on display may be rotated.
