This facility displays and introduces two traditional crafts of Suzuka: "Suzuka Ink" and "Ise Katagami," and admission is free. Suzuka Ink is made at one of Japan's rare ink-producing regions and is used for calligraphy, characterized by its deep, lustrous black. Ise Katagami is a stencil paper used to carve kimono patterns into washi paper; patterns as fine as a hair and intricate geometric designs are breathtaking. Looking closely at the displays reveals the remarkable skill of craftspeople who achieved such precision entirely by hand in an age without machinery. In the motorsports town of Suzuka, you'll discover another side of the city. The gift shop sells katagami-motif goods and ink, perfect for souvenirs and mementos of your trip.

About 10 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Shirako Station; free parking available. Free admission; allow 30–40 minutes for a full look around this compact facility. Check opening days beforehand, as there are closures (e.g., Mondays). On some days, artisan demonstrations or katagami-carving experiences are held, so check official information for a richer visit.
