Banko ware is renowned for commanding approximately 80% of the domestic market share for clay pots, and the hall displays renowned teapots and clay pots in impressive array, conveying the profound depth of ceramics through their appearance alone. The gift shop carries an extensive range from everyday-use pieces to works by renowned potters, and the time spent searching for a favorite piece can captivate adults as much as children. Pottery experiences such as painting and wheel-throwing can be arranged with reservations, making it perfect for creating lasting memories of your trip. Each May, the hall bustles as the venue for the "Banko Festival" where kiln owners gather, serving as the gateway to Yokkaichi, the pottery town. Tips
Just a short walk from Kawara-cho Station on the Kintetsu Nagoya Line, and accessible by car with free parking available. The interior is flat and accessible by stroller. Pottery experiences require advance reservation, so early inquiry is recommended if you wish to participate. After purchasing ceramics, have them wrapped with protective padding and place them in an eco-bag for easier transport.
